I am working to bring a wonderful product to kids (and adults) who are going through treatment for a chronic condition. I can't wait to share them with the world, but I have to wait for the launch of the company. Stay tuned!!!
To finish these products, I needed to use some plastic snaps. I found KAM Snaps, and love their products. They are having a giveaway right now, and it ends tonight! Join in and get a chance to win a snap press or a gift certificate! The link is:
Currently the Etsy site will host listings for customizable and one of a kind items, like hats and "Mom Bags," while the Big Cartel shopping cart will host ready to ship items, like Uglboos and Uglchews. Click over to our Shop Ugllove page and link to either store. Definitely keep checking out the Etsy store as it will have new listings and new items all the time. As new categories of items come up I'll be sure to post them here as well. Happy Shopping!Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-48539225536053601282011-03-30T17:33:00.000-04:002011-03-30T17:33:56.227-04:00A family of Hats!
So I've been working on all of these hats for a friend, but in between I made a little family of hats for my husband, my daughter and me. They are super awesome, and perfect for the spring and summer months. Done in cotton yarn, I crocheted them pretty quickly. I like the way that cotton crochets up; it's nice and easy to grab with the hook, and it makes a really nice looking hat. I also worked up a really cute flower for my daughter's hat and added a button from my grandmother's button box.

I made my hat a bit big, so I may redo it, but right now it's perfect to cover my hair that is quickly thinning from Chemo. I have really enjoyed working on my crocheting recently, and I love the hats that I've made for my little girl. With the warmer weather coming, I know hats aren't always on the mind, but I have found some great cotton yarns that make great summer head-wear. And having a daughter with skin as fair as mine, I'll be working on some with brims that will protect sensitive ears, noses and necks from the bright sun. I will be making some examples of designs that can be customized by color and embellishments. I will also take custom orders from your ideas as well. I love creating new things and I can't wait to share them with everyone. I'll post again when the samples start going up in the shop. Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-31966036155400267022011-03-13T21:26:00.000-04:002011-03-13T21:26:03.137-04:00Hats, hats and more hatsI've been having fun crocheting hats lately. I taught myself how to crochet by watching Youtube videos, and I haven't been able to stop. I also found an AMAZING yarn store in South Hamilton, MA called Cranberry Fiber Arts (www.cranberryfiberarts.com) and I've fallen in love. They have great prices and amazing yarn. Plus they are super duper nice. My friend Kirsty of K Wallace Photography (www.kwallacephoto.com) is having me make some super cute newborn hats that she will be using as props. I have one finished and another mostly done. I can't wait to get some more yarn soon to do some more. I'll post some pics when they are finished.
I'm thinking of offering custom made hats in the shop. I love the crocheted ones, and I have some nice cotton yarn that would be nice and cool for the summer. I'll dig up some patterns and make some samples. Pictures coming soon!Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-35580165052805662002011-02-15T21:04:00.000-05:002011-02-15T21:04:02.805-05:00New Things to ComeThe past month and a half have been a bit crazy for me, but things are starting to settle into place now. I am currently working on a few new things for Ugllove which I think will be very exciting indeed. A new take on teethers, some music to share, and more. I can't wait to share them. Now all I have to do is get working on them. Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-62413036480807359872011-01-08T10:54:00.000-05:002011-01-08T10:54:35.704-05:00New Items in the Store!Hello Everyone!
Now all I have to do is sew, sew, sew and prepare my paperwork. So far the holiday season has been quite busy. With the new baby, and all the family gatherings, it seems like time is just flying by. Hopefully this week's fair will bring joy to many, and help support local crafters and businesses this holiday season.
Join us Saturday, December 11th at Beverly Golf and Tennis Club for the Beverly Mothers Group Craft Fair from 10 -3. Shop Local this holiday season! Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-18239187962374829912010-11-17T21:10:00.000-05:002010-11-17T21:10:19.355-05:00New ColorI picked up a new color at the store today! It's a nice, bright, neon orange. I'll post a picture tomorrow. Check it out! I only have a limited amount, so order now if you would like a pair.

Also, I have made a new "item" in the store. If you would like to purchase multiple colors of Uglboos, you can now purchase 3 at a time at a discounted price! You can pick from any of our solid colors listed on our "Current Colors" page. Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-36575394270537972872010-11-14T20:54:00.000-05:002010-11-14T20:54:11.161-05:00Launching the StoreI've launched the Ugllove store! Uglboos are now available for purchase and I'm working on my stock. As I cut the fabric, I'll stay on top of how many are available. I'm using remnants, so I only have so much of each color. As I collect new colors, I'll update the "Current Color" page, so keep checking back if there is a color you're looking for. Or, better yet, send us an email and I'll keep my eye out for it! Don't know what size you need? Check the "Sizing & Care" page for information on what size to purchase. Also, Like us on our Facebook page and get updates on new colors, products and happenings here at Ugllove!Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-57151594202709945202010-11-11T16:10:00.000-05:002010-11-11T16:10:11.466-05:00Craft FairsI will be participating in at least one craft fair this holiday season. The for sure fair is the Beverly Mothers Club Fair, at the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club in Beverly, MA. It's on December 11, 2010, from 10 - 3. I'm sharing a table with some fellow North Shore moms, and we would love to see you there. Look for our table - the "Bitchin' Baby Boutique," and find some awesome handmade items perfect for holiday gifts for friends or your own little one. I will update you soon on a possible fair in Medfield, MA. Also, I'm making some holiday theme Multi Color Uglboos. Order early, as they are made to order for each customer. If you celebrate a holiday that I don't have listed, order from the "other" category and tell me the colors you would like (up to 3 colors).Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-18694256721732350662010-11-07T11:40:00.000-05:002010-11-07T11:40:44.823-05:00Oops!So, because of a cutting error, all the test versions were the wrong shape. This resulted in a lot of falling off of Uglboos. However, I have cut and sewn and re-cut and re-sewn, over and over until I figured out the problem. And now, I have the perfect pair and can replicate it with all the fun colors I have collected. I'm going to get sewing and get them up for sale on the Ugllove shopping site - www.ugllove.bigcartel.com. Check back to see when the Uglboos are ready to order, and for local craft fair dates. Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-56428748999148757972010-11-02T15:39:00.000-04:002010-11-02T15:39:31.591-04:00The tests are outThe official test versions have been passed around. I'm slowly getting feedback, and will have some more on Thursday when I go to group again. I have worked on the pattern and made some final tweaks, and I think I have it down. I will be getting some production done in the next few weeks so I can have some to sell at a couple of local craft fairs. Hopefully everyone will receive them well and I'll be able to get even more out there. I'll keep you posted on the dates of the craft fairs (one in November, one in December) and the progress on my online store so you can purchase them for friends and family.
Also - more things to come ...... Ugllegs anyone?Keziahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07980900249761748768noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4328395791421846828.post-78999710243131816862010-10-27T20:32:00.000-04:002010-10-27T20:32:41.226-04:00The official test versionSo, at the end of the last post, I mentioned that I tweaked the pattern to get the next version of the Uglboo. I decided that I needed to be able to sew them on the machine, both for safety (Saoirse kept getting her fingers in the hand stitches), and for durability. So I widened the base a bit and altered the shape a little on the top of the foot, and viola - the official test version. I will be handing these out to some new moms that I know to try. Once I get some feedback, I'll work on finalizing a pair to sell online. Then everyone can have some! here are what the testing pairs look like.
I'm a new mom, and my beautiful daughter Saoirse (pronounced SEER-SHA) was born on June 1, 2010. As a summer baby, she spent most of her time in a diaper and a Onesie. As the weather got colder, I reached for the socks. She hated them, and kept pulling or wiggling them off her feet. As is typical in New England, the temperature was dropping fast, and I wanted something to put on her feet that was warmer than socks, and that she couldn't pull of on her own. So, being a "crafty" sort, I grabbed some scrap fleece from her halloween costume, and cut out a pair of "shoes." I sewed them up by hand with some quilting thread and put them on her feet. I took one look and said to my self, "these are the ugliest booties I have ever seen." But, I loved them. And so did Saoirse. Here are some photos of the original pair.
